Last night was our famous Petit Chicago Swing and it was a blast! Two DJ’s – Claudia aka Summer Solstice Girl and JF were spinning for the best possible dance experience. Sorry you missed it? There’s always next month! Mark your calendars for Dec. 7!
For those of you who are wondering when our next Blues night is going to be held… you’re in luck! Bar 56 Blues is coming up on Monday, Nov. 15.
If you’re relatively new to swing but have taken Swing 1 and are looking to continue learning, Swing 2 starts tonight, Nov.3, 2010. It’s not too late to join!
Have you finally convinced some of your friends to join you in the fight for rhythm? Do you want to speed your way comfortably through killer technique like Superman flies through the sky? Or do you simply feel your hero persona needing some face time? Then this workshop is for you…It’s time to tell Clark Kent to take a day off; you’ve got some mad dancing to do!
From Petit Chicago to Broadway!
In other swing news, lindy hop will be showcased beautifully by four Swing Dynamite team members at AOE Arts Council‘s signature annual fundraiser ARTinis & Appetizers: A Toast to Broadway!, this Thursday November 4 at the Shenkman Arts Centre. AOE Arts Council promotes, develops and supports arts in Ottawa. Swing Dynamite is pleased to be a part of such a great cause and will spread the joy of their art.
This year’s theme puts the spotlight on Broadway musicals and fabulous dancing. Naturally, swing was a favourite for the organizers. Congrats and good luck to Paul Campbell, Jean-François Harbour, Claudia Petrilli and Geneviève Robillard who will undoubtedly rock the joint!
Our Rhythm Blasters will be representing not only the Swing Dynamite troupe, but helping Ottawa’s swing scene get more recognition.
Frankie Manning did say that he wished everyone in the world would lindy hop, because everyone would be happy. So here’s to our team and all Ottawa swing dancers, making this city a happier place. ![]()
